Hi @____39 ,
ServiceNow will charge a license for a custom role, if it has an ability to update, create a record on any of the out-of-box or custom created tables.
ServiceNow will treat these roles as any other fulfiller, approver or a platform run time role, as these have an ability to create, update, approve records on tables.
Only, if in case the role has a read only ability/view ability with no access to update, create between cross-linked tables, it shall not be treated as a licensed role.

Hello,
It's always best to seek out your ServiceNow account executive for any licensing questions like this. Depending on if the table was extended (and where it was extended from) or not, you may be liable for licensing per user access. itil role isn't the only role involved in licensing and a user not having itil, but another custom table "write" role, could be liable for licensing implications.

Hello,
I'm glad you found an answer that works for you. It's still recommended to seek guidance from a ServiceNow Account Executive as we cannot give any licensing guidance on the forums and tell you what would or would not have pricing implications.
