Hi Team,
I was working on blackout schedules and was wondering if any one knows what the source "Change request" means in the below window. I assume we need CI for using black out schedules (correct me if wrong).
We don't use CIs in our environment, so is there a point of having blackout schedules?
Johnny

Hi @arturoreyes "As far as I know, conflicts happen based on three points: CI, start date, and end date. I also checked the properties, but didn’t find any success. It might be a bug, so I suggest trying to repair the Conflict plugin. If it still doesn’t work, please log a ServiceNow support case."

Hello @JohnnySnow
Were you able to create a Blackout period using "Change Request". I have the same issue, I can not use CI right now to set up a Blackout schedule.

Hello @arturoreyes
Here are the steps:
You can also use the name of CI instead of it's sys_id:
Schedule Entry
Open the Change Request and click conflict calender UI Action:
Hope that helps!

Hello Vishal,
Thank you for your help.
The thing is that I would not like to use "CI Class" as "Source", I want to use "Change Request", I have set up some conditions, however, the conflict detection script is not detecting the conflict.
As per the conflict tab >> Configuration item/Affected CIs, Planned start date and Planned end date are required to run conflict detection <<, for now, I am not able to select a CI in the change form, that's why I need to use "change request" as Source.
I also tried selecting "CI Class" as the source, and then selected "Change Request [change_request]" in the "Applies to" field. That’s the table, isn’t it? The conflict is not being detected by SN.
A CI is required to run the conflict detection script. a CI is mandatory.
I think that the conflict detection script needs to be adjusted to see the

Hello @arturoreyes I believe you should start a new community thread so that we don't take away the attention from this original question.
You can still populate CI via list view or view background script:
For the CI Class being the source and applies to table Change Request, in a way you are doin the same as before. So, I would advise to continue with your original blackout and just populate the required field values for Check Conflicts UI action to appear under Conflicts tab of the Change Request.
Hope that helps!
