Bundled Models

I created a Bundled Model, with 4 assets; computer, monitor, mouse and keyboard. I assigned computer as the main component.

How would I assign the Model to the user with all the 4 assets?

I tried to assign the main component to a user, but the other 3 components dont get assigned to that user.

The process changed a little between Fuji and Eureka, so this may be a little different than what you would see if you are in Eureka. In Fuji:

  1. Navigate to Asset > Other Assets.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select Hardware.
  4. Set the Model category to Bundle and set the Model to the name of your bundle.
  5. Change any other settings you want, such as Assigned to.
  6. Click the form header menu and choose Save.
  7. You will now be viewing the newly created assets, with the one set as the Main component as the parent and the others listed as related assets in the Assets related list.

Hi Usman,

You don't assign bundles to users. You assign assets to users. When you create an asset from this bundle, all the assets based on the model will be assigned to the user. The bundled model just acts as a means to create the assets quickly.

Thanks for quick reply Ben.

I created an Asset (Computer) which was part of the Bundle, then assigned it to the user.

But I wasnt able to get the remaining 3 assets of the Bundle assigned to that user.

Maybe I am missing something when I created a Bundle, but I did have computer   as the main component in the Bundle.

A walkthrough to create and assign a bundle would be appreciated.

Thanks Again,

Usman

Awesome! Thats what I was looking for. Totally ignored "Other Assets"!

Thanks Ben!
