Business Stakeholder vs. Approver User Roles

Cory Hitchings

Hi all,

Wondering if someone could explain the difference between business_stakeholder and the approver_user role?

From my understanding the business_stakeholder role has the approver_user role within, with the ability to read Incident, Request, Task, Release tables.  Is this correct?

Thanks!

Hi,

That is correct. approver_user has pretty much been transitioned in to business_stakeholder on most new contracts/renewals you'll start to see the business stakeholder roles coming in.

By definition though, just so it's covered:

approver_userCan modify requests for approval routed to them. They also have all capabilities of Requesters.
Note: There is a fee associated with this role. Do not assign it to users without confirming your organization has the appropriate entitlement.
Business Stakeholder

[business_stakeholder]

Users with this role can view and approve records within all products of ITSM.
Note: The business_stakeholder role contains the following ITSM roles sn_incident_read, sn_problem_read, sn_change_read, sn_request_read, and approver_user roles.
  • pa_viewer.business_stakeholder
  • approver_user.business_stakeholder
  • cmdb_read.business_stakeholder

Hi,

I'm assuming this transition is applicable to other applications (eg. HR Service Delivery, Customer Case Management, etc) that uses the approver_user role and now has the business_stakeholder role?

Thanks!
