We are looking at using the Announcement functionality which will put messages in the banner at the top of our portal. Given that our ITIL users are mainly in the platform, I am wondering if we can apply it to the platform too. Does anyone know how to do this? I only see the possibility to specify portals in the announcment record.

Hi,
It is not possible OOB as the Announcement is widget and cannot be added on the platform banner area.
Thanks!

That's what I suspected. Thanks.
So, if 'announcements' are just for the portal, is there a different way to get a message to display on the platform to all users who are logged into it? I wondered if there was anything from the days before the portal.

OOB, you can use overview help pages which behaves like a splash screen and is displayed when a user logins to the system.
There are also other custom methods available in the community but they are complicated approaches.
Thanks!
