Contextual search not returning results on Service Portal, does work when I 'Try It'

I have configured a Contextual Search for Incident Defection via the Service Portal.
When I 'Try it' the search results show as expected
When I view the same Catalog Item via the Service Portal the typeahead search results are not showing.

Anyone else have this same weirdness?

Procedure

  1. Go to /nav_to.do?uri=sys_properties.do?sys_id=c7792ff60f0033003ff3cbb2ff767ed7
  2. Change the value to "Typeahead"
  3. The cache might need to be cleared as follows: https://<instance-name.service-now.com/cache.do
