Date format is displayed in field label

Hi,

since upgrading to New York i have noticed that Date/Time format fields are now showing the format in the field label.

I have checked the dictionary settings and label/styles and cannot see anything that looks to be related. In previous london version it was simply as below

I have made changes to the time formats in the service portal but this is at the widget level and dont believe they are related, also in previous versions this was not an issue...

Thanks in advance

Hi,

What you're seeing isn't OOB. This is my personal developer instance (and I've verified this was the same look on my company's New York instances):

As we can see here, I am displaying two date/time fields, just for example, and neither have the label like in your screenshot.

When you navigate to the dictionary entry for this field and look at the related tabs at the bottom, do you see a label one and/or an entry for dictionary override? If so, can you check those two spots for a possible deviation in label?

Also, does this appear the same way on Incident, Change, Problem, etc? Or you've just seen that on one table?

Hi,

I see the one label entry as expected and nothing under dictionary override. This looks to be the case with all Date/Time fields and is the same on Incidents and Changes etc

Just to update this appears to be user specific, as when i impersonate others they dont see the date in the field label... i will find out why.

Thanks anyway

Hi,

Ok. So I believe this shows when the user's date/time preference (you can allow them to pick their own format -- which I think you have turned on and happened here) and for entry in to a date/time field, the parenthetical shows telling them the system format they need to enter it in. Try and see if you impersonate user, perhaps, and then go to their user settings (clicking gear icon in upper right-hand corner in back-end UI) and see what they have for their date/time. Test changing it, etc.
