Has anyone got this working?

 

We have installed in DEV but fails to populate

Posting this here in this older thread since it still ranks high in search results.

We managed to get the Dell OpenManage integration working. Here are the key takeaways that helped us:

  • Dell OpenManage support pages: These are only accessible to users who have the right cookies, support IDs, or entitlements. I encountered empty links, but colleagues who had previously worked with Dell support and our hardware had no issues accessing them.

  • Installation guide: Follow the guide included in the downloaded package exactly. For example, during our acceptance setup, I missed the step (that I had done successfully on Dev and Test) where you're supposed to switch to the Dell OpenManage Integration application before uploading the JAR file to the MID Server. That oversight cost me hours of troubleshooting.

  • JAVA_HOME: You can set this to the Java JRE folder included in the ServiceNow MID Server installation files.

  • Connection profile setup:

    • The truststore path must be accessible by the MID Server agent. If not, you might not get a clear error message, but the connection can fail intermittently.
    • I haven’t had much luck moving connection profiles between instances. I recommend recreating them manually on each instance.
