Getting Change Management Set Up, Assess and Approvers

I'm getting started setting up Change Management and have a couple of questions (assuming a normal type change).

Am I correct that the assess stage is where the business and technical sides complete their work and documentation and that the approval in that stage comes from that part of the organization?

If I am correct, how do I set up so that the correct set of approvers get notified for a given change?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

John

Hope that helps.

I've done further research and find that the approvers for assess come from the Assignment Group.

Hope that helps.

Hello @johnfeist

I have same kind of requirement, but in my requirement i need to disable that approval request to the assignment group.

With out asking approval the it should be move from Assess state to Authorized state

How can i achieve this?

Hi Shiva,

You need to look at your workflow.  Assess is there as a check that is interpreted differently by different organizations.  As Stephen pointed out in his comment above, his organization has the approval partially automated.  If you are just looking to bypass the Change Manager approval step, simply reroute your workflow around those approval steps.  You should have set value steps as you move through the workflow which update the current state.  If you are getting errors when doing that, you may need to update the script includes that control the type of change to allow for the transition.

Hope that helps.
