How can we validate whether attachment is PDF or word file or image or excel file

Hi,

How can we validate whether the attachment is PDF attachment or Image attachment or excel file or any screenshot.

I want the user will have option select only Excel file not the image 

for some requests/incidents i want the user will upload only PDF filed

for some requests/incidents i want the user will have option to upload only word file

 and so on...

any possiablity how can we validate such kind of attachments?
