How to check if a role (ITIL) is assigned to any users directly? Meaning not through an assignment group.

Thank you in advance!

My team is currently doing an audit on our ITIL licenses, and we want to check if any users (active and inactive) have ITIL role assigned to them directly, and not through assignment groups that contains ITIL role.

Hello,

Unfortunately, you didn't tell us how you all plan to do this audit, but if you're trying to simply view this within the platform without scripting and all that, then you can...

You'd need to navigate to:

  1. User Administration > Roles, then select the itil record
  2. Within the inherited column, right click on any record that says: true and choose "filter out", or false and choose "show matching"
  3. Any record remaining where it says inherited =  false, means they have the role directly applied to them, click the user record, look at the roles related list, click edit, and then you can remove and add them to a group where they inherit it properly.

Open the use record.

Go to the Role related list.

Bring the column called Inherited.

If a role has Inherited set to false, then it was added directly to the user.

Thank you! This helped me accomplish what I was trying to do.

Coool! But you didn't mark my answer correct though, lol.

Hi,

If itil users mapped in Subscription management, then you can check the Subscription management ---> Subscription User sets and users list.

Else, check by itil role. Navigate to Application navigator Search with User administrations ---> Roles

Itil ---> Check the Users who have itil access.

Thanks,
