How to create a dynamic group of users?

Has anyone else run into the limitation that groups in ITSM Standard are always static? Right now, we have to manually add and remove users, which doesn’t scale well when people change departments, roles, or locations.

 

Wouldn’t it be useful if groups could be populated dynamically using filters on the sys_user table — similar to how User Criteria works in Service Portal? For example, a group defined as all active human users in IT would update automatically as records change, without admin intervention.

 

I’d like to suggest adding a “Dynamic membership” option to groups in ITSM Standard, where admins can define conditions and preview membership. This would reduce manual maintenance, improve accuracy, and align with governance best practices.
