Hi,
We would like to update some features in walk-up experience such as themes, some fields in the check in page, however due to security setup in walk-up experience service portal that only allow user like Walk up user that only has one role of sn_walkup.walkup_login without has any other roles, we can't do some customization through service portal in the check in page as the page will display "Sorry, you are not authorized to access the walk-up pages. Please login using the correct user account." How do we achieve our customization for Walk-up Experience as the only role that allow to login to Walk-up Portal is Walk up User and it doesn't has any other role to do customization in Service Portal? Thanks!

ServiceNow documentation state that you can't add any other roles for walkup user ( https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-it-service-management/page/product/walk-up-experience/refe... ). The user must only have one role of sn_walkup.walkup_login, no other role allowed. I clone the page, widget from the servicenow navigator and do the customization either from navigator or service portal.

You should be able to make these changes as an admin. you can then login as walk-up login user to test your changes.

Can anyone share any best practices, do's / dont's specifically related to customizing / extending the walk-up application? Above and beyond standard BPs and specific to Walk-up.
Specifically I am referring to as things relate to branding, possible page/widget changes, creating a new portal all-together (should we or edit oob) and cloning OOB pages, etc.
I see that it's very configurable but what is considered the 'red line' before we start risking compromising upgrades, etc
This is a great 'turn-key' app but it's unrealistic that any customer would typically want to use it 'as-is' to a certain extent and really brand it to align to their 'own' vision for a 'tech lounge' , etc experience.
Any advice before we embark would be if great assistance here.

Hi Robert,
Did you end up coming up with any approaches for this? We are looking to perhaps add a field or two to the 'Online check-in experience' widget, one for the cell number of the user at least. I am guessing I may need to clone the widget to do that.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi All,
Did you all have any approaches for this?
I need to edit the online check-in page to add the Appointment/Collection user in a separate queue
Can anyone have the detailed steps on doing this?
Thanks in advance

The solution is adding the widget 'Walk-up Status' instead of walk-up check-in, it serves the same and is available for users without sn_walkup.walkup_login role.
