Incident vs Events

I'd like to be able to track and report on Incidents caused by a problem and those caused by an Event. What is the best way to do this in SN.

Many views, but no replies as of yet, so I thought I'd elaborate a bit more. I would like to determine which ones we were able to prevent a service impacting incident and which ones we couldn't prevent
Incident for those that were service impacting and used Event for those that were not service impacting.

I guess the key question is if you want the system to automatically distinguish between the two or just have it be something manually keyed in. Would you consider any incident not associated with a problem to be an "event"?
