Is there a way to reset a form layout back to default?

Hi Community,

We are looking to export the data we have in our CMDB and start a fresh and remove any customizations that have taken place prior to geneva.

I know there hasn't been a huge change in this space, but we are looking to really start as fresh as possible in this space.

We have all of the data we need for now, but the way Asset's and Configuration Items, product models etc are currently being used is wrong, and the forms and layouts have been highly customised prior to wanting to use them properly.

Based on the above, I would really like to understand without having to go back into every single update set if there is a way I can refresh the layouts of forms etc back to default?

Hi,

To reset any form layout I would simply goto "Configure > Form Layout" Then click on "Show Versions" under Related Links. This will show you a list of all your changes and you can pick any change record   based on timestamp and then choose "Revert to this version".

Hope this help!

Thanks Manjul,

I know I can do that per Form but this only goes back to changes that I have made, if in the very first version, I cleared everything and added in 1 item only I would not be able to revert back to 'default'.

This is what I am trying to achieve.. Back to ServiceNow Default without Zbooting..

Hi Rob,

You should be able to revert back to ServiceNow default per form. You should select the version with the one which contains source as "System updates---"

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Pradeep,

There is no option to select as source "System Updates" I only have Source: Update Set: Default for which is the very first changes I made to that form.

I have checked other. eg Incident, Problem and they are the same.

We have however recently cloned our Production Instance over Dev as we had no further developments in the pipeline and wanted to make sure that everything was up to date so that we could test Geneva. Should that make a difference?
