Hi,

Your question is a bit difficult to read/understand, but you're unable to apply user criteria to knowledge categories, thus you can only control who has access from the knowledge base level itself...or per article. Some have resorted to created a "read" ACL on specific category to prevent others from seeing it, so you could try that.

Hi Allen Andreas,

Here question is : I need to control the knowledge category within one knowledge base. We want one group has access to one Category and not to have access to  create or read the knowledge article under different knowledge category within one knowledge base.

Could you please assist in this

Hello,

To be honest, this isn't an ideal situation and is most likely only going to cause a maintenance nightmare trying to accomplish this. Out of box, there is no support for what you're talking about from a category level. You would have to incorporate user criteria on each and every article to limit this one group from seeing articles elsewhere...and for creating...you'd have to do some sort of custom solution as the can contribute is determined at the knowledge base level.

What you do have out of box, is a publish approval flow...so if you use that and even use ownership groups, an article would have to go through approval and so whomever gets that can just reject it and not allow it for that category unless they meet a certain criteria.

In the end, this sounds a bit messy, and you should evaluate the true need to limit their access within the KB or ...build a separate KB that has their articles in it.
