Manual Approval workflow

I want to create a workflow, where manual approver to be added post the request item is created. Till the manual approver approves the request, the stage should be Waiting for Approval.

As per business requirement no manager approval is required and not to use REQ for request approval.

I removed the line manager approval from the workflow then the stage directly moves to approved.

Can somebody help me on how to create a approval workflow without LM.

Expectation:
1. Request item is raised
2. Manual approver is added
3. Request approved/rejected

What I would recommend is having the REQ auto-approved. Then, have the manager approval on the Requested Item (RITM) prior to any fulfillment tasks being generated.

REQ and manager approval are not in the business scope.

I've solved for this business case by creating a task for the fulfiller team, with instructions to manually add approver(s) before completing the task.   The next workflow activity is *Manual Approvals*, which pauses the workflow until approvals have been made.  Note that the activity allows you to specify whether Any or All approvers are required.
