As my admin account, this works just fine, however, for an end user it isn't. I verified all of their roles and they have the proper roles.

1) Go to Assets->All Assets-> New (select hardware, but any of them work)

2) Click on the search for Model and then click 'New' in the popup (select hardware)

3) When the form loads, Manufacturer (reference to company), Product Owner (reference to sys_user) are enabled but their search buttons are disabled. If I type in them, it will auto complete.

Anyway know why I can't search?

I saw this KB, which seemed similar, but it says fixed in Istanbul, which we are on: ServiceNow KB: A reference field placed on a new record form in Reference List view have disabled re...

Here's a SS of the popup, you'll also note that Deprecation search is disabled as well...

Hi Adam,

When you navigate like how you said, then there is an issue. It is still not fixed in Jakarta as well. But instead, if you navigate in the Application Navigator as Product Catalog > Product Models > Hardware Models and click New, then in that form you can see that Manufacturer search button is enabled as seen in the below screen shot. Hope it helps.

Hi Adam,

Check if the user has necessary read rights for manufacturer table. All you need is to check for read ACL for manufacturer table & then modify it accordingly.
