SCOM connectivity issue

Hi All,

I am integrating my service now instance with MS SCOM 2012. For that I have installed the connector onto the SCOM server and have followed the instructions mentioned in wiki. But there is no incident that is getting created in Service now for any alerts .

There is no error logs regarding any connection details on the servie now side.

I would like to know if there is any log files on the MS SCOM side where in the errors are captured when the connector is unable to send the alerts out of MS SCOM?

OR

How do I test the connection?

Naveen

I also have similar issue with SCOM 2012 with ServiceNow.

All my SCOM alerts are currently in status of "forward pending" and no ticket got created in ServiceNow.. Where and how can I perform troubleshooting?

Owen,

Once you install the plug-in on the SCOM server. You should see a Service-now Subscription under the SCOM subscriptions. You then need to configure the subscripton to fire when the alert fires.

I also found a SCOM testing tool for subscriptions, but did hear from some Avanade/Microsoft gurus that it works
fairly well.   http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2009/05/19/notifications-test-tool.aspx

After installation, I found a "ServiceNow SCOM Connector" under Internal Connectors. I had configured the subscription in the Connector to forward all events to ServiceNow.

Is a separate subscription required to work with the connector?

Hi John,

Whether there can be any other cause this 'Forward Pending" status for alerts? I'm getting the following warning message in event viewer after installation of this connector:

Exception in timer function:No such host is known

I'm able to open the service now instance from SCOM server. Any clues??

Anyone configured this connector successfully?
