How can you create a filter or list layout to complete a text search for additional comments or work notes? I have a requirement for our ITIL users to be able to search the system by these fields.
Also, how do you search for information added within a variable.

Try searching by keywords. If you have too many records, add addtional filter such as created on this year or last year

Hi Kristy,
Sanjeev's suggestion is right.. but it is harmful to play with journal fields, because the Zing search going to be implemented for this on the journal table will drastically slow down your system because it is a huge table with lot of data.

any search on the system journal field will take a HUGE amount of time to complete i HIGHLY recomend you do NOT do this.. normally if i am looking for a journal entry it takes me ten minutes or so to load each search.

How does your ITIL users handling searching within Servicenow to locate tasks that has been completed in the past with keywords. We are currently having the ITIL user modify the short description to be more useful but still user friendly.
This has become problematic when we are questioned later and trying to locate what was completed on the request. We may get questioned from someone other than the original requester.
I see where searching the entire instance would cause performance issues, so how can I just search within a list that has filters.
We added the comments and worknotes along with the additional comments on a list however you are unable to search these columns either.
