Standard change task templates

Hi All

I am looking to try and create some standard change templates that include some change tasks.

The documentation suggests that I can just add these task templates to an open standard change proposal.

Create a standard change task template

However the change task template tab doesn't seem to exist.

I checked out a completely clean dev instance of Istanbul and it isn't there either. I've checked form layouts, related lists etc but it's so far proved elusive.

I noticed that the documentation also suggests that in the standard change properties area there are change task related fields. Again I can't find them in my instances.

So documentation aside

How do I create a standard change which includes change tasks from a template?

Hi Scott,

After taking a deeper look, I realized this functionality is only available from Jakarta version, but not in Istanbul. I'm raising an internal note to adjust the documentation accordingly to avoid any confusion in the future.

Hi Scott,

It seems that this piece of documentation is assuming you are following the previous articles where it explain how to create a proposal: Create a standard change proposal

Then, in the documentation you pointed, after step 1. Navigate to Standard Change > Open Proposals. It assumes you have an existing proposal, which you have to open.

Once in a change proposal, the tab will appear in the bottom

It might be that you have it as a section instead of a tab (depending on your users' setting).

In a clean instance should be there, but if not, you can enable it by configuring the "Related List" in the form and adding Change Task Template -> Std Change Proposals.

Hope it helps,

Ginés.

Hi Gines

Thanks for taking the time to reply

However that tab simply is not visible in my pre-prod instance or a clean personal dev instance. I must be missing something

So you can see the lack of a tab, and I cannot find the related list that you are seeing
