hello,
I had recently posted a question regarding how to create a sign out sheet which would tie into a stockroom, but deleted it as I've decided it would be best to simplify what I'm trying to achieve through the stockroom itself.
I have imported a bunch of device information into its own stockroom in our instance.
What I'm trying to achieve is for a couple of specific users to be able to go to that stockroom, look up the device they wish to loan out / sign back in through the stockroom, and that there is some form of a log or tracking of what occurs with each device.
I've setup a new role and added the two users into their own group, and the role to that group.
What I'm trying to figure out now is how to make it so that these users are the only ones that will have access to this stockroom, but also, what permissions then need to be able to make changes to the assets.
I have attached a screenshot. Currently the two users have access to the stockroom and can view the list of devices, but when they open a device, the "sign out" portion of the form for them to input data is read-only. As an admin, its open for me obviously, and I can't seem to figure out how to make it available for them as well.
Secondly, as shown in the screenshot, is there a way to have a listing of any past changes that were made to show in the asset window? We would like to have this available and also for reporting purposes.
Thank you for any suggestions 🙂

Sounds like your role is not properly set to write on those fields.
In terms of a audit trail, you can create an activity formatter (similar to incident/task)

Jonathan, I thank you.
This was precisely what I was looking for.
I had figured out why the user couldn't write to the fields after I added the asset role to their group. I just disabled access to the asset management application so that they can only access the single stock room I want them to. Now they can write to these fields as needed.
The suggestion for the Activity formatter is exactly what I was looking for.. I didn't even know that this existed! Thank you so much for the helpful response!
