Telecom billing in ServiceNow

I'm interested to know if anyone is doing telecom billing in ServiceNow - particularly having replaced Pinnacle or MySoft.

Hi All,

Just wanted to add to this thread, as we here at UBC (University of British Columbia) have been looking at replacing Pinnacle for some time. My team supports both Pinnacle and ServiceNow on campus, so that has naturally been an idea that we've explored.

One option we looked at was MobiChord (http://mobichord.com/wired/ ) a third party vendor that built an app on the ServiceNow platform. They started out as a wireless telecom management solution, but recently have move into wired line as well. The demo we saw from them was promising, but it was still early days for that product and we wanted to see more. That was about 5 months ago.

Another challenge that has been put to us by our leadership team, is to find a new billing solution not just for telecom, but something that can accommodate billing for all of our IT services. To my surprise this doesn't seem to on anyone's radar for ServiceNow, and I'm just wondering if anyone has heard more?

Thanks

Dustin

Thanks for jumping into the conversation, Dustin! Great information; I've not heard about MobiChord before, so that is interesting. I'm going to shop the idea around again at Knowledge 17 next week and see what I hear. I know my previous questions were met with "we'll consider it," but it obviously hasn't been a priority. And, yes, our need for a billing system has expanded well beyond telecom to now include all IT services - especially our Shared Services organization. It certainly seems like there should be some kind of tie in with the Financial Management module, if only as part of a chargeback/showback opportunity.

Keep us informed on the conversation.

Chris

apschikhalikar you may have some additional information to add here

Hi Dustin,

I saw MobiChord at K17 also and have received a demo of their really nice product. The University of California, Berkeley, Telecommunications processes the charges for wireless, wired and other IST services (storage, virtual machines, network charges, backup charges, etc.) and it looks like we would be able to do all of that with MobiChord.   I'm just waiting for answers on a few things to ensure it will meet our requirements.

Thanks,

Terri

Very interesting conversation at Knowledge 17 with Mr. Jesse Baartman (jesse.baartman@servicenow.com,jessebaartman), Product Manager, IT Business Management, on this topic. We discussed several scenarios where organizations like ours need to bill-back (internal "reporting" and external invoicing), including our telephony business questions. There are a number of enhancements and simplifications coming the the IT Business Management areas of ServiceNow in both Jakarta and Kingston that might help, but Jesse seemed interested in hearing more about our specific uses cases and the opportunity to displace systems like Pinnacle (now Calero).

Anyone else interested in talking with Jesse if they do indeed pursue this?
