Session Code: BRE0472
Presenter(s): Nia
Company(s): University of Toronto
Abstract:
The University of Toronto Mississauga's classroom-technology/audio-visual (AV) support team owns and manages hundreds of equipment items that constantly move around the campus to support teaching, administrative, and conference activities for a campus with more than 14,000 undergrads, over 700 graduate students, and more than 3,000 full- and part-time employees. In November 2018, UTM deployed a solution — built in ServiceNow with integration to asset management and CMDB — to track equipment more effectively.
In this session, UTM will share how they improved tracking of their numerous AV equipment inventory using Asset Management, CMDB, and a custom application that allows fulfillers to scan equipment in and out using QR codes.
Attendees will learn how UTM:
- Leveraged ServiceNow for a custom solution that extend ITSM and ITOM
- Balanced the use of configuration and the desire for customization
