Can attachments open in view mode when they are inserted as links within editor/body of the document

I have followed instructions in some other articles I was able to find and it did allow for the [view] to show up if you display the attachment on the article (i will have a screen shot attached - this will be in the 1st screen shot and it will have green circles around it).  But if you are trying to use just the link within the text of the article, it still forces a download then the article does open with the correct application, not getting prompted for the download just happens automatically.  The problem is we have people on our helpdesk that then go back and reference that saved document instead of coming back to the article and maybe the attachment has been updated but they don't see it because they are looking at old copy that was auto downloaded.   Would like to see if when you are the editor (see second screen shot) of the document and you click on the insert/edit link is there a way to have an option to set the attachment to open in viewer instead of auto downloading. I have already added the attribute of Use Document Viewer to the Kb-knowledge table type = collection. I have enabled the document viewer. Maybe this just not achievable from within the body of the knowledge document? - look at first attachment and see the red squares.  This person would like to insert the link to the attachment like I show here and be able to click on that link and have it open in viewer.  Let me know if you need additional screen shots to understand what is that's being asked.  Thank in advanced!

I would love to know the answer to this myself!
