We have been finding that if we make a change to an article that may be also included as a related list in another article, the refence doesn't change to the new version of that related article.
Example:
Article KB000001 has a related article KB000002.
Changes are made to KB000002 and then published.
The related article in KB000001 is still the old version of KB000002 and not the newly published version.
Would anyone know how to correct this so the KB article will show the most recent published related article?

I placed a question on the HI and received this response:
As per the response on the following Community post, it's expected behavior that the Related Articles related list still has the Outdated versions:
The post has a suggestion for a workaround which would be a customization.

What version are you on and do you know which version your instance was originally created on? Seems like there are some feature differences depending on where we started our ServiceNow journey.
I wonder if I am "benefiting" from a UI "enhancement" from a predecessor. Hmmmnnn...
Gurus? What say you?

I'm not actually sure what the initial instance was created on (before my time). But yes... very interesting...

I too thought this behavior was poor but then thought it through a bit more. How would you know that the related article remained relevant to the updated article? Perhaps devising a way to prompt a review of the relationship between the articles would be a better approach.

If you are referring to articles in other articles, you need to be sure to use the 'copy permalink' at the bottom of articles. This will ensure you are always taken to the most current version of that article.
