Updating the "Valid To" date field while restoring the article from the "Retired" state

When re-publishing an article from the "Retired" status, the "Valid To" date field isn't automatically advancing to the next set date (6 months). For instance, if I were to restore an article, the "Valid To" date field remains set to the previous date (the day it was marked as "Retired") and doesn't switch to the next set date. Because this date isn't updating on its own, the article reverts to the "Retired" state. Presently, the user needs to manually take the step of checking out the article, adjusting the date, and then republishing it. This manual process is causing an unnecessary version change to the article without providing any added value.

Does anyone have any insights on whether this is a built-in feature, or if we need to make script modifications to make this happen?

When I do it, it adds 12 months to today's date in the draft article.

Thank you, Leri! Did you customize the Valid To field to automatically change to 12 months, or is this a built-in feature?

Hi @RaghuBellamkond

Valid to field is OOTB in Knowledge base or you can check the same under knowledge properties.
