PDI Reclaimed Despite Active Use — Known "Last Used" Bug Never Fixed

Hello ServiceNow Community,
My PDI (dev281320) was recently reclaimed
due to alleged "prolonged inactivity."
However, I was actively using my instance
regularly to build a custom application
called Vynapse — an AI-powered ITSM tool
aligned with WGU's ServiceNow Application
Developer Certificate program.
The problem? The "Last Used" counter on
the developer portal was NOT updating to
reflect my actual activity — a bug that
has been widely reported in this community
by multiple developers.
ServiceNow's statement that they are
"reclaiming inactive PDIs to keep them
available for active builders" cannot be
accurate when:
1. Active builders are losing their PDIs
due to a broken activity tracker
2. New PDI provisioning takes 1-3 weeks
3. The "Last Used" bug has been reported
repeatedly with no official fix
I am requesting:
- Restoration of dev281320, OR
- Priority provisioning of a new PDI
- An official fix for the "Last Used"
counter bug
- Clear communication on how activity
is actually tracked
I backed up my work via Update Sets
so my application is recoverable —
but the principle remains: developers
should not lose instances due to
ServiceNow's own tracking bug.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any help or escalation path appreciated.
Thank you,
Mycroft Vynapse

Hi @me-pennywor
Yes , many user reported the same that even after they were using it actively still it has been reclaimed.
May be based on your observation, you can raise a idea request.
FYI ->Keeping PDIs Available for Active Builders: Upcoming PDI Reclamation Changes
As per above article:
reclaiming PDIs that meet both of these conditions:
- 90 days or older (based on when they were provisioned)
- Haven't had a PDI login in the last 10 days
There is no way to retain PDI after getting Reclaim notification. Also there is no support available for PDI.
Please check this Personal Developer Instance (PDI) Guide
Where it is written-
"When a PDI is reclaimed, the instance is unassigned from you, reset to its original state, and reassigned to another Developer Site user. Reclaiming instances allows ServiceNow to supply active developer site user with free instances."
Once it is reclaimed, only option is left i.e Request for New PDI instance.
