Learning UI Builder: Yokohama Edition!
Good news everyone!
We have some awesome updates for you when it comes to getting started with UI Builder. We have released the Xanadu update for the Now Learning UI Builder Fundamentals course, and it's now free for anyone to take! Keep reading for more information on how to get your UI Builder journey started.
This post was originally created for Xanadu, but we have updated it for Yokohama and added the NEW UI Builder Advanced course. Go check it out!
If you've been wanting to learn about UI Builder, now's your best chance. Here's what you should do:
- First, check out the UI Builder 101 article (https://sn.works/UIBuilder101) or the UI Builder 101 video by Chris Johnson to get a great amount of foundational knowledge.
- Next, check out the UI Builder Fundamentals course on ServiceNow University (https://sn.works/UIBFundamentals). There will be a fantastic amount of hands on examples and learning for you to get the basics down.
- We just released the brand new UI Builder Advanced course on ServiceNow University! (https://sn.works/UIBAdvanced) If you want to relive the Knowledge 2025 Build a Killer Experience lab or if you weren't able to attend, now's a great chance to get your learning on advanced UI Builder topics going.
- Once you've gone through the training, check out our team's Knowledge 2024 labs over on the Next Experience Workshops site (https://sn.works/NEWorkshops). We have an Intro to workspaces lab and an Advanced workspaces lab that will walk you through some of the more common use cases you might face when working in workspaces.
- Crafting Workspaces Like a Pro: A Hands-On Learning Adventure! Lab (https://sn.works/K24IntroUIBLab)
- Advanced workspace configuration with UI Builder Lab (https://sn.works/K24AdvUIBLab)
- Then, on the same Next Experience Workshops site, we also have a Build a Killer Single Page Application lab (https://sn.works/K24UIBKillerSPALab) that you can go through to learn custom application development in UI Builder with some more advanced concepts.
- And finally, to really test out your skills with a bigger challenge, check out the Build Along Month initiative (https://sn.works/BuildAlongMonth) on that same site. It's meant to be a set of stories that you can work through as if they were stories given to you at work.
All of that should get you started on your UI Builder journey! Here is also a handy list of links for further reference materials in case you need it:
- You & I Builder Bytes Articles (https://sn.works/BytesArticles) - Tons of articles on specific use cases and requirements you can achieve with UI Builder. We are looking for more topic ideas, so please let us know what you are looking to learn!
- Next Experience Center of Excellence (https://nxtxp.link/coe) - Collection of articles and resources, main resource hub to look for updates for the product.
- Next Experience Academy (https://sn.works/nextacademy) - We are moving from our Next Experience Academy over to the Platform academy, but here is the backlog of episodes where you can find more UI Builder information.
- Next Experience Workshops (https://sn.works/NEWorkshops) - Site that hosts knowledge labs and workshops.
- You & I Builder Live (https://sn.works/YIBLplaylist)- Unrehearsed live technical show creating apps and configuring workspaces on UI Builder, aimed at a more technical audience but still accessible for beginners. Currently on a brief hiatus while we figure out our summer programming.
Happy learning!

Third day in a row, I still see 500 Learning Credits/500 USD for the course. Hope the "Free" course is soon available.

For the issues where you're not seeing the course as free, are you using a personal account or one associated with your company? I don't know the answer (not even my department 🙂 ), but if it's your company account you might want to try opening a Now Support Case to ask about it.
If the main goal is just taking the training and not whether it shows up on your profile, then you could also try making a second ServiceNow account to see if it shows up for that one.

Thanks! Your cases should be getting responses now, but everything should be good to go and the course should be free again. Go ahead and try to sign up, and if you encounter any issues just submit another ticket. Sorry for the confusion!
