Change journal input field colours in workspace

How do I change the colour of journal input fields in ui builder? Ideally I want to make Additional comments red.

The system property does not change this colour in workspace

This works in classic UI but doesn't change the workspace.

but it only changed the activity stream colour not the actual journal input field.

I changed the system property to green and it updated classic ui but it is still yellow in workspace:

I don't think it is possible to do as the workspaces are made on the UI framework which doesn't allow the DOM manipulation or the style changes.

That was my worry, thanks for your help. I'll leave this question open just in case someone has found something.
