Next Experience Theming - Targetting global search colors

Hey,

I'm trying to make a black and white theme for Next Experience. I got most of it working, but I can't seem to change the color of the global search bar, both when it's inactive and when it's hovered over. I've attached some screenshots so you can see what I mean. I want the border, icon and text color to be black when it's not hovered over currently it's white. I also want the grey to be much lighter when hovered over. I haven't been able to find the specific class to target for this without causing the entire background on list view turning black or something like that.

Thanks for any help!

If you have already configured the rest, I think you know where to edit the CSS (All > Now Experience Framework > Theme Management > Themes)
Here, in your new theme record, try changing lines

6 "--now-color_selection--primary": "x,y,z",
10  "--now-color--focus": "x,y,z",
17  "--now-color_alert--low": "x,y,z"

It doesn't seem like that has changed anything. I added all 3 of these in bright pink to make sure I don't miss it changing but it's the same. This is on the unified navigation header. I've also logged out and back in and it's an active theme. So not sure what exactly I'm missing here.

Did you ever figure this out?

Do we have a answer on this? I have the same issue. We can see search only when hovered but other wise it is same as header color and not able to changes its color too.
