How to learn Now Assist & Skill Kit without direct instance access?

Hello Community,

I want to upgrade my ServiceNow skills, especially around Now Assist and the Now Assist Skill Kit. But I don't have access to a Now Assist-enabled instance or a company demo instance where these features are activated.

I know Now Assist is not available in a standard PDI — it needs paid plugins or a licensed enterprise instance. So I'm looking for alternative ways to learn and practice.

What I want to learn:
• How Now Assist works (AI summaries, case deflection, agent assist)
• Now Assist Skill Kit — building custom AI skills
• Generative AI concepts on the ServiceNow platform
• Best practices for configuring and extending Now Assist

My questions for the community:
1. Are there free or low-cost ways to get hands-on access to Now Assist or Skill Kit for learning?
2. Which Now Learning courses do you recommend for Now Assist and GenAI on ServiceNow?
3. Are there community sandbox programs, hackathons, or events where Now Assist access is provided temporarily?
4. For those who learned Now Assist without direct access — what was your approach?
5. Is there any plan to make Now Assist available in PDIs in the future?
6. Is anyone willing to provide paid instance access for learning purposes? I am happy to pay a reasonable amount for temporary access to a Now Assist-enabled instance so I can practice hands-on. Please DM me if you can help!

I think many learners face this same challenge. Any tips, resources, or shared experiences would be very helpful!

5. Is there any plan to make Now Assist available in PDIs in the future?

Atul: Tough to say. The reason is that PDIs are very resource-intensive, and AI is an additional capability that comes with a lot of data and hardware requirements. So I doubt it will be available in a PDI.

6. Is anyone willing to provide paid instance access for learning purposes? I am happy to pay a reasonable amount for temporary access to a Now Assist-enabled instance so I can practice hands-on.

Are you referring to Now Learning for financial support for this?

Then the short answer is: it is not possible to get a paid instance from ServiceNow. It might be outside ServiceNow, but you can try other platforms as there may be multiple offerings available.

Free. Login into Servicenow University and complete the courses

2. Which Now Learning courses do you recommend for Now Assist and GenAI on ServiceNow?

Mentioned.  First Complete ITSM related courses

3. Are there community sandbox programs, hackathons, or events where Now Assist access is provided temporarily?

Occasionally (rare for the event),  though I have checked full feature was not exposed

 No I guess ( mean not seen any such road map) ,as license cost is pertained to it.
