How can we use generative AI to summarize the document and images for the incident ?

That is quite a broad question, but if you are referring to incident summerization within the context of ITSM, the short answer is you need to install Now Assist for IT Service Management:

This is a paid application that offers a range of gen-AI functions related to ITSM.

 

You also need the base Now Assist applications, such as Now Assist Admin Console:

To answer another part of your question: Now Assist’s generative capabilities are currently limited to analyzing text, but not images. So, for incident analysis, it can create incident summaries based on work notes, etc., but not any attached images.

For Document Summarization which is attached in an Incident- OOTB its not there.

But Using Service Now Gen AI Controllers File Content can be sent to Outside LLM and Summary can be Captured.

For Image you need to Use completely a Solution which is Outside of Service Now as i dnt see any document where Now Controller can talk with Image Processing Models.
