Hello all,

 

I am trying with Document Extraction skill to extract the data from the document.

 

While I try I am getting this message but not the expected output during the test run. "The document is being prepared for display."

 

I followed the steps by

1. Defining the use case with the target table.

2. Defining the fields with the targets fields,

3. test outputs by uploading a pdf, it just displays this message "The document is being prepared for display." without any further actions.

Hi Buddy,

This usually isn’t an error. The message “The document is being prepared for display” means the document is still being processed in the background.

Document Extraction runs asynchronously, and for PDFs (especially scanned or multi-page ones), OCR can take some time. Until that finishes, the test run won’t show any extracted field results.

I’d recommend:

  • Waiting a few minutes and refreshing the test run

  • Retesting with a small, simple PDF to confirm it works

  • Making sure the PDF is supported (clear text or good-quality scan)

If it stays stuck on that message for a long time, then it’s worth checking the execution logs, but in most cases this resolves once processing completes

HI @Allen0825,

silly question - have you tried different pdf documents? Eventually what happens when you click on "Refresh"?

 

JHave you tried with different people, log out - clear cache - log in?

If nothing of this helps, go and create a case from Support Portal: http://support.servicenow.com/now 

 

As it is Now Assist, then it's clearly not a PDI :))

We are in Zurich version, tried the same scenario in Sub PROD, but it is showing the same message 'The document is being prepared for display' , and Status of the Test Output is not changing from In Progress to Done/Failed/Skipped, we are adding only the Docx file to the 'Document Task',

How can we fix this and in the Product documentation below link it was mentioned like from Zurich version onwards Document Intelligence is going to Deprecated, is it true?

Hi @Allen0825 

Is this still the same issue? If yes, please try to repair or update the related plugin and then test again. It’s possible that new files were added, which caused this issue, but I’m hoping it’s resolved by now.
