During the Performance Analytics and Reporting Office Hours on April 8th, we covered Performance Analytics diagnostics and improved logging during data collection.
You can quickly catch up (15 mins) on the why, what and how of diagnostics and logging watching the video. Scroll down to read the summary and get useful links to documentation.
Summary:
- The admin console will give you a quick glance at the state of your configuration.
- Use diagnostics to cleanup your Performance Analytics configuration before (!) errors occur, and to make sure you retain, or regain, control of your ever expanding configuration.
- Make use of the ability to diagnose even a single configuration record, to avoid potential errors from occurring when you run a data collection.
- The improved logging, in the Orlando release, will give you more details as to what is going to be collected, or what not. This will help you isolate issues faster and also give you better information when questions arise around the "numbers" that show up on a dashboard.
