Platform Analytics Dashboard (Zurich) – Unable to Relate Custom Category and Sub-Category Filters

Hi Community,

I am trying to implement dependent filters in a Platform Analytics Dashboard on the Zurich release.

I have two custom fields on the Incident table:

  • Category (custom field)
  • Sub-Category (custom field)

My requirement is for the Sub-Category filter to dynamically display values based on the selected Category, similar to the cascading behavior that was available with Interactive Filters in Responsive Dashboards.

After reviewing the solution provided in this thread, I attempted to configure the relationship directly from the dashboard filter configuration. However, when configuring the filter source and selecting fields, neither of the custom fields appears in the field selector. As shown in the attached screenshots, searching for the custom Category or Sub-Category fields returns "No Results", even though both fields exist on the Incident table and contain data.

I would like to understand:

  • Are custom fields supported for cascading filters in Platform Analytics dashboards?
  • Is there any additional configuration required to make custom fields available within the filter configuration UI?
  • In this scenario, is manually updating the par_dashboard_widget configuration the recommended or only supported approach?

Has anyone successfully implemented cascading/dependent filters using custom Category and Sub-Category fields in Zurich? Any guidance, examples, or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

Screenshot 1: Sub-Category filter configuration showing no Sub-Category field returned in the field selector.

Screenshot 2: Category filter configuration showing no Category field returned in the field selector.

Thank you.
