Can we add a Platform Analytics Visualization on a Service Portal page?

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are well !

I'm trying to add a few visualizations built using Platform Analytics to a Service Portal page, but I haven't been able to find any out-of-the-box widget that supports displaying them, as shown below:

Has anyone successfully added Platform Analytics visualizations to a Service Portal page before? If so, could you please share how you achieved it?

I would appreciate any guidance or recommendations.

Best Regards,

This is a tricky question and answer not least because even ServiceNow can't keep track of their naming schemes. Everybody answering so far is right for various reasons.

For reference we are on Australia and have com.snc.pa.sp.widget installed. I have both menu options - see pic.

So I can insert legacy/core reports usually thought of under Platform Analytics, i.e. stuff created by the menu item Reports

and

I can insert data visualizations, usually thought of under performance analytics

It is odd that you can see the Perf A widget and not reports so if I would check the list of widgets (sp_widget) to check Report widget is present and that the field Internal is not true (the field does not show on the list or form without you adding it)

If you fix this it's worth noting that ServiceNow are cutting off creating new legacy reports in 2027:

Also of note is that I've been trying to do this for the best part of a year and even raised a HI ticket only to be told that there is no service portal support for performance analytics visualizations... The situation is changing and a clean installation in a PDI is very helpful to work out what is really supposed to work.

Debbie,

Due to our confusing nomenclature, I am not clear on some points.

I think of Core UI reports as Reports or Reporting, which is their old name, even though you can currently create them under Platform Analytics.

I definitely think of Data Visualizations under Platform Analytics, not Performance Analytics. Data visualizations are supposed to be the replacement for both Core UI reports and PA Widgets. They are supposed to support multiple data sources, whereas Reports support only table data and PA Widgets support only indicator data.

Within the development team, we still use Performance Analytics to refer to the indicator back end, along with the old UI like PA Widgets and Analytics Hub. Naming, however, considers Platform Analytics to be a replacement for Performance Analytics. This is reflected in training courses, for example.

My apologies.

No apologies needed! I'm sorry that the naming is so confusing. I think it always has been, if you think of terms like "Performance Analytics Dashboards." To me, Core UI Dashboards were a completely separate product to Performance Analytics, partly because they were developed by a completely separate team, and partly because Dashboards were just a canvas for both Reports and PA Widgets. It was entirely possible to have a Dashboard with no Performance Analytics content at all!

Agreed. That's exactly why I was looking for an oob widget named either 'Platform Analytics' or 'Analytics' or something similar but it seems it is not available currently.
