Creating a report without report_admin

Hi there;

I have users needing to just create reports. 

Apparently, there is no rights besides report_admin that will let them create reports. 

But I don't want to give them report_admin right just for that. 

Is there anyway to let them create reports with giving them report_admin?

Yes I did. 

This is of grat help and thank you for that. 

However, regardless of the roles, I am not able I to access anything when I go to Reports > Create new.

Or should I only go to All > Platform Analytics > Data Visualizations to create reports?

What am I doing wrong?

Hi @mamor, 

Please assign the user both "viz_creator" and "report_user" roles.

This will allow them to create both the classic reports (if your instance hasn’t fully migrated to Platform Analytics yet) and the new visualizations in the Visualization Designer.

After creating a report or visualization, please don’t forget to share it - otherwise, it will only be visible to the creator.

Hi Renat

I assigned both roles but still unable to do anything when I go to Reports > Create new. 

I still give me the same screen. 

Am I doing anything wrong?

Hi @mamor ,

Users shouldn't have report_admin OOTB to create reports - they should have report_user. If this is not the case, some customization has been done to your instance.
