Hi

Recently we activated the KPI Composer(currently in Yokohoma) as per the documentation , "DA design " tab is missing. I have the admin access. Not sure if anything missed being activated.

Has any one come across this,

Yes, this is something a few people run into, and it’s usually not an admin issue from my experiance.

In Yokohama simply activating KPI Composer is not enough for the “DA Design” tab to appear. That tab is part of the Data Analytics (DA) framework and depends on a few additional plugins and roles.

Here are the main things to check:

  1. Required plugins

    • Make sure the Data Analytics Framework and related KPI/PA plugins are activated, not just KPI Composer.

    • In some cases, the DA Design tab only appears after activating Performance Analytics – Content Pack or related DA components.

  2. Roles

    • Admin alone may not be sufficient.

    • Check that you also have roles like:

      • pa_admin

      • kpi_admin (or equivalent DA/KPI roles for your version)

  3. Application scope / UI refresh

    • Try logging out and back in after plugin activation.

    • Clear cache or run cache.do, as the tab is UI-driven.

  4. Instance version / entitlements

    • In Yokohama, some DA features are entitlement-based.

    • If the plugins are active but the tab is still missing, it may not be enabled for your instance.

If all required plugins and roles are present and the tab still doesn’t show up, I’d recommend opening a ServiceNow HI ticket to confirm DA entitlements for your instance.

You’re not missing anything obvious—this is usually a plugin/entitlement combination rather than a configuration issue.

If this was helpful please thumbs up and mark as solution accepted. Thanks my Friend!

Thanks fro the detailed reply Mathew,

You are right, looks like DA tab is removed in this version.
