Dashboard freezes during loading

Hi Team,

I have a user facing an issue with Dashboards. We're currently in Australia Patch 3.
There's a custom dashboard created and utilized by multiple users. Only 1 of them has the loading error.

He do not have any role issue, he can view them and loads fine but this freezing issue occurs intermittently.
Sometime, when he refreshes, the dashboard freeze.

1. This issue exist in different browser and incognito.
2. No extension added to browser.
3. When impersonated, it works fine. Same for other users who can access the same dashboard.

4. Cleared cache, still the same issue.
5. I do not see 'par_dashboard_cache' table, thus not able to move forward with cache clearing in dashboard.

6. Interestingly, the dashboard did not freeze when the dev tools are opened, I tried multiple times.

If anyone has any idea on this, kindly do let me know. Appreciate any help. TIA.

Hi

In addition to the above can you get the user to look at each visualization individually to see if he has a problem with a specific one? This may narrow down the issue especially if it is due to a certain type of visualization.

Also, a silly one, but might help - test both you impersonating him and him trying it within a private window. As it is working for you when you impersonating him it sounds like there is something you have that he doesn't. Private window gives a decent base line.

Hi @DLHill ,

I actually did tried that way, he's got the issue even with private browser. As an admin, I dont have the issue.

For your first query, I did check on each of the reports. I found that they're actually filtering for 30+ different service offerings. There is also a filtering to SLA table using same filter but in different widget. Now if it was the query problem, it would've affected other 13 people. But for other its loading actually faster not for this particular user.

Since the dev tools are also not working, I do not have a solid idea on what's stopping the rendering.

Ashwin

Just to confirm - he can see each visualization correctly outside of the problem dashboard?(you only mentioned that you had checked you could see them)

Hi @DLHill ,

The user cannot edit the dashboard and check for the reports, Since its loading for me, I was going through each component in the dashboard (within the dashboard > edit) and checking the data source.

So, this will be annoying and I can see why you would not bother doing this but hey, anything to get a clue, right?

Create a new dashboard, add the first widget from the bad dashboard save it and get him to open it. Add the next one and get him to check. Repeat until you hit an issue. Or not, in which case you can always replace the bad one with the one you just created! (Just kidding).

I personally don't think this will do much as we had a similar issue with a user in project workspace clicking on the RIDAC and seeing a blank page. Impersonating him showed the page just fine. Did all the flushing you did. Checked he could see the data in the tables. In the end I told him to click on the page and leave it till he timed out and it eventually turned up. Took ages. No clues as to what the problem was.
