Dashboard / Report export to PDF - not showing properly

Does anyone have experience with the proper export of dashboards and reports? I have been trying to export dashboard on the Istanbul and Jakarta instance, but both versions seem to export them in a very poor way.

The Istanbul version keeps cutting in the widget even though I select the 'Avoid page breaking' option.

Jakarta is much better than Istanbul, but it takes one widget per row instead of keeping the layout style.

I can't seem to get this right and hope somebody has the experience and tips to help me with this matter.

Hi Tayalee,

Just a thought could you try using "Printer friendly version".

Dear Jaspal,

Thank you for your response, strange enough I can manage to keep the layout of the dashboard in the Jakarta version with help of the printer friendly version, but as you can see in the example attached, the printer friendly version breaks the widget on to the next page.

What I am trying to accomplish is to keep the layout of the dashboard/ reports (including all the information that is available on the dashboard/ report) and to avoid page breaking.

Could you tell me the best way to achieve this?

Kind regards,

Tayalee

Sadly, I think the built in print functionality is still a work in progress.   It's improved (like you've noticed) but still, in my opinion isn't there yet.

I hate to say it, but I typically fall back to taking screenshots and pasting them into something like Microsoft Word, then using Save to Pdf for one-off reports.   For scheduled reports you may be stuck with an imperfect solution for now.

Were you able to find a solution for that? I have dashboard with multiple reports and exporting to pdf takes away all the layout with which the dashboard has been built. It simply stacks widgets on top of one another.
