Using a fresh PDI instance running Xanadu, I chose to display the number of open incidents with the summarization by month which resulted in one data point. As seen below, the line does not appear until hovered over. I would expect that in such circumstances the data point would be visualized as a point (dot or otherwise) on the chart.
