Do you need to delete scores from an indicator to be able to collect additional breakdowns?

I have an automated indicator named `Number of Closed Incidents`. This indicator was collecting by default a breakdown by Assignment group ONLY.

Now I need to collect additional breakdowns such as Priority, Age, Category.

After adding the new Breakdowns do I need to DELETE the ScoreCards for that Indicator and then run again the Historical & Daily Collection jobs?

If not, what's the right way to do it when you need to add additional Breakdowns to an Indicator?

Hi Waldo,

you dont need to delete the scores. You need to run historic collection job again, it also recalculates the already collected scores for existing breakdown. However you can exclude the breakdowns from the collection job:

1) Go to historic collection job

2) Open the detail of job collection for indicator

3) Exclude the breakdowns which already have valid historic scores

Daily job will automatically collect all breakdowns (if you dont exclude any manually).

Hi @Marek Krcma, thank you for your kind response. I thought that re-running historical collection jobs was discouraged, but I think this only applies if I'm not collecting new breakdowns which is my case here.

What if the Historical Collection Job that I have contains multiple indicators? Can I exclude those indicators I'm not interested in and collect just the specific indicator I want?

You should run historic collection job only once and daily increments onwards as the best practise. If you run it more times, you rewrite all collected scores so you must consider: recollect only indicators which you changed (conditions, new breakdowns).  Yes, you can exclude indicators from historic collection job:

Or create new historic collection job and include only indicators which you need recollect which is the best practise.
