Formula Indicator: What is the function of 'Key' on the indicator properties?

I noticed there is a 'dot' on the widget for any indicator using the 'key' property, see below.

That's what checking Key does. A black dot beside an indicator name indicates that it is a key indicator. Mark indicators as key by selecting the Key check box when creating the indicator. https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/kingston-performance-analytics-and-reporting/page/use/performance...
