How can you create a report to show requests rejected at specific stages of a RITM?

I am creating reports, and I have a requirement to show requests rejected at specific stages of a RITM. The first stage has an approval and the second stage has a task that someone is assigned to.
I rejected the approval at the first stage I'm looking at to test it out, and that changes the stage to Request Cancelled and finishes the workflow. I’m not sure how I would specify that it was rejected at that particular stage in a report. Is there any way to tell cancelled records apart? I don’t know if it’s the best idea, but I was thinking I could possibly have two hidden checkboxes on the RITM called “Rejected at ____ stage” and set up logic to have them checked in some way through workflow, business rule, etc. Any help is appreciated!

Hi
You'll want a metric on stage on RITM and then a report should be pretty easy from there.
Take a look in the Metric Definitions view at the "Incident State Duration" - first step is to make a copy of that for Requested Items and point to the field that you want to monitor.
