How Do I Create a Breakdown Source from a Catalog Variable?

Kieron Jones

I am creating a dashboard and I have been requested to provide a percentage figure (for time spent over all time) by a Catalog Variable called  "Request Type". I am presently using u_catalog_variable which appears to contain the data needed.

For Example: 3.5 hours were spent on request type, "Migration of Update Sets", out of 7.0 hours spent on all other requests. So 50% of the total time was spent on Migration of Update Sets

I have an indicator source and an indicator for the total time worked; this will form the basis of the calculation for the number. So, I just need a breakdown source showing Time Worked that is based off the "Request Type" variable to complete the calculation.

Where do I go to get the "Variables" and "Values" associated with the catalog tasks when it appears that "Variables" is not a selectable field / item / group in the facts table section, when creating the breakdown source.

How do I obtain this "Request Type" variable's value to build the Breakdown Source?

The "Variables" element is selectable in the Conditions section, and so is "Question", so I can return records from the database for "Request Type", but cannot supply the facts table field that contains the "Value"

Thanks

Kieron
