How to add additional predefined ranges to Date Filter for Workspace Dashboards?

Hello PA Community,

I am on Utah release and using the new Date Filter option available for Workspace dashboards. I want to add additional relative date ranges for end users to select e.g "Last Fiscal Year".

It looks like the Business Rule named "Get Date Filter Options for Date Filters" controls the available date ranges for Date Filters in classic Interactive Filters only, which are applicable to Responsive Dashboards and NOT Workspace dashboards.

Anyone know how to add date ranges to Date Filters for Workspace?

Thanks

Hi, currently trying to do the same thing, were you ever able to achieve this?

Hi @syed_but_not ,

No solution to this yet. I feel like the new Platform Analytics Workspace is missing a lot of features that were previously available with Responsive Dashboards. It makes adoption of the Platform Analytics Workspace slow and user resistance due to missing parity.

Hi @Mark Nguyen ,

I am searching for the same solution as my customer has core ui dashboards with custom date ranges in their interactive filters. So currently we are not able to completely switch from core ui to platform analytics workspace.

Or is there any solution out there yet?

Thanks for any information,

Dominique

Hi there,

I've just discovered you can utilize the Business Calendar application to add more relative date ranges in Platform Analytics (tested on Yokohama).

  1. Navigate to the All > Business Calendar > Business Calendar Filter Options
  2. Create a new record
  3. Select a predefined calendar, "Week" in this example
  4. In the period field, enter an integer for the relative number of weeks
    • Entering 0 represents the base period (this week)
    • Entering -2 represents the number of periods that should be traversed backward from the base period (Last 2 weeks)
    • Entering 3 represents the number of periods that should be traversed forward from the base period (Next 3 weeks)
    • Etc.
  5. Save the record
  6. The options should now appear in the menu to select predefined ranges, with the added benefit that the names are automatically calculated based on the Calendar record that was selected!
Simply move the new ranges to the "To be applied" side on the right and apply.

  7. Now the filter will have the options available!
