How to create new function field in platform analytics?

In core UI report, we can create function field, however, can't find it under platform analytics -> data visualization, is it expected? Do I have to go back to core UI report to create function field? Thanks.

To create or configure a Function Field ,platform analytics -> data visualization is the wrong Navigation , that's why you don't see it unfortunately!!

You can do is , perform one of the following actions:

• On an upgraded instance that has not been fully migrated to Platform Analytics, navigate to All > Reports > Create New.
• On a new instance or one that has been fully migrated to Platform Analytics, navigate to All > Platform Analytics Administration > Usage and governance > Reports and select New.

Then, Select the report you want to add a function field to.

When you configure a function field on a table, it is available anywhere you use the table on the Now Platform, including any report on the same table. For example, a function field that calculates the age of open incidents is available for all reports on the incident table.

Finally, Open the Configure tab and click Configure function field.

As stated in the documentation, you cannot create function fields in Platform Analytics. You have to navigate back into Report Designer. Sorry, we have finite resources. However, you can use function fields in Platform Analytics data visualizations just as you would in Reports.
