How to show prior month formula indicator score on dashboard

I'm still learning PA, so bear with me. Right now I'm trying to create a metric that shows % of X. I've set up automatic indicators for the numerator and denominator of X, then a formula indicator to calculate the %. I need to show the monthly % on a dashboard, but I want to be able to track the data throughout the month so I scheduled all of these to collect data daily.

I believe the indicator criteria are correctly counting the daily data, but I can't figure out the "monthly" piece. Maybe I didn't set something up properly. Are there certain ways I should create the indicator and schedule certain jobs to collect this data? How do I get the monthly score to show up on a widget in the dashboard? (I'll get to interactive filters later, for now i just want the default to show the previous month's score).

Thanks,

I highly recommend starting with the Performance Analytics Essentials training (free self-paced) and really the Performance Analytics Fundamentals training.  It will make your life much easier when you understand the tools at your disposal.

Here is a list of resources to learn about Performance Analytics: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_article&sys_id=44c3a3ecdbf43f84d82ffb2439961...

For your question at hand, you want to apply a time series (or you may end up wanting a monthly indicator collected daily depending on your needs, but first try the daily with a time series):

More examples: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_blog&sys_id=675c5793dbbc63c85129a851ca96191c

And while Dashboard Breakdowns allow you to see different slices of the data, Interactive Filters only apply to Reports and not to Performance Analytics.

Hi Adam,

Yes I've started through the training but wasn't going to be able to get through all that in time. Thanks for the tips...I'll check out the aggregations.

To your last point...I want a Dashboard that has lots of metrics reported for a given month and I want to be able to change the month displayed for all elements. Wouldn't that be an interactive filter on the Dashboard that then changes all the dashboard elements?

Interactive Filters only apply to Reports, not Performance Analytics.

In Performance Analytics, we always show the current data.  If you want to see the history, the widgets have options to show previous periods so you can compare to the current data or you have time series to show the past, the present, and to forecast the future.

You can't change the past, but you can the current period and the future.  Performance Analytics is all about using the information available (including historical information) to make better decisions and influence behaviors today.
