How to use report title as widget title on the Dashboards

Since Dashboard was introduced on Jakarta, we had a problem on the reporting widget titles. Before it uses the Reporting Title Value now it uses the report name value. How can we force the dashboards to use the Reporting title value again?

Report NAME is the one highlighted on top and Report TITLE is the one highlighted on the bottom:

Hi JC,

Can you attach a screenshot?

I tried to replicate the same on an OOB instance.

Please check the screenshot attached.

The dashboard has the report name on the widget.

Please change the Report Title option of the Report itself and make it different from the Report Name. Now the one shown on the dashboard is the Report NAME instead of Report TITLE. The Report TITLE is shown as widget title on Homepages but ServiceNow changed the behavior on Dashboards.

You'll see below the Report NAME versus the Report TITLE. We organize our report by Report NAME as such it is long. We use TITLE as short name which will be used on the homepage as widget.

Hi JC,

I tried to replicate the screenshot, and I confirm I can see the exact same behavior.

You need to select

Show chart title - Always. This will bring the chart title on the dashboard as well. But the report name would still be there. Please check the screenshot attached.

Thanks,

Satyaki.

We already tried that and the title area will just be blank which in turn will waste space on the dashboard. Better if we can just force the dashboard widget title to use the report title.
